Getting started

Choosing a therapist can be daunting. It’s essential to find the therapist and approach that is right for you.
If you’d like to find out more about how I work, please text or email.

  • For individuals I offer a face-to-face 30-minute first consultation
    (at a charge of £15)
  • Couples are welcome to come for an intial 40-minute consultation
    (charge of £20).
These first consultations allow time for us to talk through what help you are seeking and answer any questions you may have. For couples it is very important that both people come along. In all counselling, and couple counselling especially, it's very important that both partners feel comfortable with me as your prospective therapist.

If you decide my approach is right for you and we agree to continue, we will arrange a time and day to meet for your next session. However, there is no obligation to book further sessions after this first half-hour. You are free to go away and think things over before committing yourself to future work.
Sometimes my practice is full. When this happens I can either see you for an assessment consultation and then recommend other therapists who I think would work well with you; or I can put you on my waiting list.

Margaret Meyer

My practice is currently full, so I am not able to take on new clients at the moment.

My offer to you is a professional, safe, and supported experience that integrates the practical, emotional and spiritual aspects of your life. I have trained in several different therapeutic methods (including Gestalt, Schema Therapy and Family Systems) which I bring together so as to work in a tailored way with each client.
I am an integrative therapist and practise within what's called the relational humanistic approach, which prioritises the quality of relationship between the client and the counsellor: this is the foundation that supports all of the therapy.
I have no stake in your decisions or fixed opinions on how you should lead your life. My role is to support you and help you clarify your emotional and mental processes, remaining open, non-judgmental and genuine at all times.

My clinics close at 7.30pm and I will respond the next day to messages sent after that time.
